A splashy Sunday

Summer fun day? Check!

When our friends invited us to an outdoor water park for the day, we jumped at the chance. After all, what could be better than hanging out with friends in the sunshine, watching our kids splash around in the water?

Not much. We were pumped.

Little O wore her pearls for the occasion. Naturally.

And was rather impressed with the water park when we arrived. She looks pretty darn excited, don’t you think?

After all, “wawa parks” are Little O’s current love affair. Right behind dressing up her monkey with hairbows.

But I digress.

The water park was pretty sweet. Little O and the Hubs had a great time splashing around in the water and ducking under the waterfall…

while Baby H and I dipped our toes into the refreshing water.

We lounged in the shade in matching sunhats…

and Baby H happily worked on her favorite teething ring.

Little O even practiced sunbathing for about 45 seconds, until she decided splashing in the water was way more fun.

After a nice little siesta,

Baby H and Daddy hung out together for more toe-dipping fun

while Little O and I played around in the water.

Until, of course, Little O’s inevitable meltdown occurred– a little earlier than we had planned, might I add.

But that’s okay. At two years old, she’s supposed to throw tantrums. But at two, she also needs to have boundaries, so we packed up and rolled home.

It still was a fabulous time– I can’t think of a better way to spend a few hours on a weekend. Sunshine, family, friends, water…what could be better?

Not much.

Except your own bed at the end of a very fun day.

Counting My Kisses: I’m so thankful for the sunshine, our friends and the wonderful day we had at the water park! The girls loved it and so did we. I know I’ll look back on this day and smile when it’s -10 degrees in January!
